Shami Kabab is an extremely popular snack especially in India and Pakistan. A Shami is a small piece of chicken or beef or minced mutton and ground chickpeas and spices. It is basically a non-vegetarian dish that admired by all non-vegetarian people. It is very easy to cook and take very less time to get ready.
Shami Kabab Ingredients:
- Well minced Mutton: 500 gms
- Eggs : 2
- Onion (fully chopped) : 1 medium size
- Green chilly (fully chopped) : 5
- Bengal Gram (channa) : soaked overnight
- Garlic : 10 pods
- Cumin Seed (Jeera) : 1 tsp
- Cardamoms : 4
- Cinnamon (Tuj/Dalchini) : 1 inch long piece
- Ginger (Adrak) : 1 inch long piece
- Pepper Corns (Kalimirchi) : 6
- Red Chilies : 4
- Clarified Butter (Ghee)
Method:
- First, boil all minced meat in 3 cups of water and add a teaspoonful of salt till water is absorbed and meat is tender.
- Grind meat into a fine paste.
- Next, take garlic, cumin seeds, cardamoms, ginger, cinnamon, peppercorns, soaked gram dal and red chillies and grind all of them into a fine paste.
- Then, mix both the pastes well.
- Now mix well beaten eggs and prepare uniform dough.
- Next, add finely chopped green chillies, onion to dough and mix well.
- Shape the dough into small round kababs or flattened balls.
- Heat ghee and deep fry these balls or kababs till golden brown and serve them hot with sauce or chutney.
