Chocolate pudding is not just enjoyed by itself, but can also be used in a wide range of desserts, such as pies, brownie and cakes recipes. Here is how to make chocolate pudding.
Ingredients :
- 1 cup (3 ounces) Dutch-processed cocoa
- 1/2 cup (2 ounces) cornstarch
- 1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 1/2 ounces) instant non-fat dry milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups of milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method :
- Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl to create an instant pudding mix
- Measure out 1 3/4 cups of the pudding mix.
- Add it to a medium saucepan and store the rest in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Pour in the 2 cups milk and heavy cream to the saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, while whisking gently.
- Lower the heat to a lower setting.
- Continue to whisk the mixture and cook for four additional minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Use a sieve and pour the mixture through it.
- Serve in individual dishes or you could use a 1 1/2 quart-sized serving dish.
- Wrap the pudding with plastic wrap.
- Place in the refrigerator for about four hours so that the pudding can chill and settle.
